CPCU is a professional designation in property and casualty insurance and risk management.
Cayce earned her CPCU designation through self-study and by taking online exams through The Institutes. She focused her path on commercial insurance, an area she specialized in before coming to FMH. Since coming to FMH in May 2016, she has worked as a claims analyst on the reinsurance team.
Her credential is one of five she’s worked towards during her career. “This was a goal I set for myself after I completed my last designation,” she said.
She added, “During my self-study, I enjoyed reading about the commercial exposures. I enjoyed learning about aviation
the most.”
To prepare for the CPCU exam, Cayce also studied legal aspects and accounting as it relates to insurance along with other topics. In total, it took her four years to prepare for this CPCU designation.
Her other designations include Associate in Claims (AIC™); Associate in Reinsurance (ARe™); Associate in Insurance (AINS®); and Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS).
This summer, Cayce plans to enjoy her well-deserved time off from studying. She said, “Our schedule is pretty packed this summer with baseball and outings with friends. I will enjoy watching a full football season knowing I do not have to study at all. I am still up in the air if I will want to work on a sixth designation. If I do, it will be for Associate Risk Management (ARM™).”
FMH congratulates Cayce on her impressive professional accomplishment!
